CASCADE LAKE

Cascade Lake is situated between the south side of Emerald Bay and Fallen Leaf Lake. Up until 1875, this beautiful pool was simply known as "Lake." In 1875 it became Silver Lake and a decade later this was given the name it holds to this day - Cascade. It was so named because of the cascading falls located at the lake's southwest end. These falls, as with most around the lake are a sight to behold in the spring. The falls flow in over 100-foot drops at a time creating liquid thunder.
